A story in pictures from Johnsonville School

Johnsonville School have sent through a wonderful set of photos that tell a story of their involvement in the Great Postcard Project. They say they've loved participating which is fantastic!

Great work Johnsonville School! We love your photos!

First we made our postcards

Then we wrote on our postcards

Here they are, ready for the post box

Then we received postcards from other schools and shared what they had to say with our class

Here are our class' three favourite postcards

So, a question for everyone else...did you make one of these postcards? If so, well done! It's one of Johnsonville School's favourites! They are really beautiful.

Thank you Johnsonville School for sharing such lovely photos, it's really brought the Great Postcard Project to life!

Naenae School have had some lovely postcards

"We have received 22 beautiful postcards. We liked hearing all the great enviro-related projects around other schools and seeing how much we all care about the environment. Some of our students really like the pictures of the gardens and the really cool stories. We especially like the 3 postcards from Wainuiomata Primary. We have been sent an amazing postcard from Johnsonville School that was made of Origami - what cool recycling! From Linc at Little Earth, he said: 'We care for the chickens and the guineas. We also have a worm farm.'"

And here are some lovely

photos from Naenae School:

Piles of postcards!

Carterton School students set an ambitious aim of making and sending a whooping 300 postcards!

And of course, making that many postcards means that you have a heap to put in the post box!

Here's what the staff and students at Carterton School had to say:
"A big thank you to all those who sent us postcards! We loved receiving them and reading them. Carterton School students are looking forward to next year's Postcard Project!"

Lakeview School and Naenae School share their mahi

We've heard from Lakeview School in the Wairarapa who have made and sent 50 postcards!

Their teacher says:
"As we have an extension Te Reo class those children wrote their postcards in Māori and we sent them to a bilingual class. We have received 21 cards to date. The class monitor collects them from the office each morning. The students are excited to receive them and have become adept at giving feedback on the quality of the card and message!!

It has proved to be a very worthwhile activity and one we would repeat. We are hoping to receive 50 cards in total."

Great stuff Lakeview School - we look forward to seeing photographs of your favourite postcards!

And over the other side of our Rimutaka maunga Naenae School have been busy. The Enviroschools Regional Coordinator was thrilled with the bonus postcards she received from Room 1 at Naenae School.
She says: "It's wonderful to see students with such an affinity for their environment AND great artistic skills."

Thanks Room 1 for sharing your mahi! Kei te tino harikoa a Karyn.
